Scam of the week – Credit Cards

Got these two calls the other day, back-to-back. What is interesting is that in both cases they are pitching 0% interest rate. This is really uncommon from a bank, unless it is simply an introductory rate. What I thought was interesting was the comment about getting the rate across all credit cards. This does not sound plausible given the nature of the credit card industry.

It would require a lot of work for someone to be able to negotiate 0% rates on ever card type. My guess is that is just a ploy to get you to press the button to speak with a representative.

What I find the most interesting is that they provide no method to call them back, which to me is suspicious right there. Any reputable company would provide a method for you to call them back. So in this case they are simply playing the volume game and hoping out of the number of calls they make they will connect with a small subset of folks over the phone.
